Michael Gill settled a diving case on behalf of a 12-year-old girl who dove into an above ground pool at a classmate’s birthday party and fractured her cervical spine. Plaintiff filed suit in the Circuit Court of Cook County, but was transferred to DeKalb County – 2013 IL App (1st) 130652. The case settled during mediation by Hon. Michael Mahoney (ret.), and was paid by: the homeowners; the pool’s manufacturer (Kayak Pool Corporation); the seller and distributor (Kayak Pools Midwest); the manufacturer of a replacement liner (Latham); and three component part manufacturers.
