Doctor, hospital sued over alleged failure to diagnose

Posted on August 14, 2013 Failure To Diagnose

A case has recently arisen here in Illinois involving an alleged failure to diagnose.

The case involves a man who says that he received care from a doctor at a hospital in August 2011. The man alleges that, during this care, the doctor failed to properly evaluate him and failed to conduct proper tests. According to the man, this resulted in the doctor failing to diagnose a condition he had. The man claims that he was then discharged from the hospital by the doctor.

According to the man, being discharged from the hospital with his condition undiagnosed led to him suffering a variety of harms, including pain and disability.

A lawsuit has been brought by the man in a court in Madison County in connection to these allegations. The lawsuit names the above-mentioned doctor and the above-mentioned hospital as defendants. Damages are being asked for in this lawsuit.

As the allegations in this case underscore, diagnosis-related negligence can result in patients getting hurt. Harms suffered due to diagnosis-related negligence can have significant impacts on a patient’s life.

Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals and medical facilities make sure to act in a proper manner when evaluating, testing and diagnosing patients. No patient should have to be subjected to harmful diagnosis-related negligence.

One also hopes that medical professionals and medical facilities are held accountable when they commit diagnosis-related negligence. Medical malpractice claims can play a major role in holding medical facilities and medical professionals financially responsible for the harms they cause when they commit negligence.
