Hospital negligence and other mistakes made by medical staff members can cause patients to suffer from serious injuries. Back in Sept. 2010, a woman visited a medical facility. While she was there, medical staff allegedly did not monitor her blood sugar when it decreased to an excessively low level. As a result, she endured injuries to her brain that are now permanent. Reportedly, the woman is permanently brain damaged, and she is never going to be capable of living on her own. She will also need to be cared for around the clock for many years to come.
The jury ultimately determined that the doctor and the medical facility were responsible for the injuries. Her legal guardian was awarded $8.3 million for her care. No other information about this case was reported.
